Runways To War featured by The Times
Runways To War has now landed on the internet pages of The Times! Our historic tour of Lincolnshire's airfields is becoming so renowned it has been featured in the travel section and can be read in full here.
The article carries an interview with Mick Purvis - manager of short breaks company Lindum Heritage which organises the Runways To War tours. Here is what he told The times:
"The feedback we have had from people who have already 'flown' with us, so to speak, has been fantastic.
"The whole tour is all about rekindling the wartime atmosphere here - the days when hundreds of thousands of men and women came to the fields of Lincolnshire to do their bit for their country.
"Of course we look at the tragedies of the war - there were more than 50,000 casualties in Bomber Command - but we also look at the sense of humour that got the RAF's men and women through it all. Many of our clients find the whole experience quite moving and uplifting."
Response to the article has been superb and we are already half full for our April 2010 tour.
